Lean Sausage Italiano

Turkey sausage is the key to this lean dish. Serve this over whole wheat pasta with a nice salad and a healthy dinner is served.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean turkey sausage, sliced
  • 1 8 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 2 tbsp ground Parmesan cheese

Method

Slice sausage and put into skillet with onion simmering until sausage and onion are slightly brown. Mix in tomatoes, garlic, oregano and pepper. Simmer until juice is boiling and add cheese. Simmer until sauce slightly thickens.
