Julie's Turkey Sausage Penne Pasta

A healthy pasta dish, loaded with flavor--turkey sausage with lots of tomatoes and seasonings on penne pasta.
Ingredients
- 2 large turkey sausages
- 2 cans diced Italian tomatoes
- 2 small cans tomato paste
- 1 large can tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1 tsp pepper (or to taste)
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp dill
- 1 tbsp parsley
- 1 tbsp cilantro
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 3 cups cool water
- 1 white onion, chopped
- 2 boxes penne pasta

In a large frying pan slice sausages and brown lightly. Once browned, add salt, pepper, tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, onion, vegetable oil and simmer on low heat for 45 minutes. After 30 minutes, add oregano, cilantro, garlic, dill and parsley. After sauce begins to simmer fill a pot with hot salted water and boil penne noodles for 10 minutes or to al dente. Remove pasta, pour into a colander to cool, and drain 3 minutes. Serve in large pasta dish; pour sauce over top with some parsley leaves on both sides for impressive presentation.
Notes: Cooking time 1 hour. Use wheat pasta for a healthier alternative.
