Instead of using a pasta sauce in this recipe, the cooked spaghetti is layered in a baking dish with bacon, mushrooms and cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb semolina spaghetti, cooked & drained
  • 1 lb maple-flavored bacon, partially cooked
  • 1 lb thinly sliced mushrooms
  • 12 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh sweet basil, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place about one third of spaghetti in a lasagna baking dish. Place one-third of the partially cooked bacon, one-third of mushrooms, and one-third of the cheese on top. Continue to layer remaining ingredients, seasoning each layer to taste with salt and pepper. Sprinkle parsley and basil on top of last layer. Cover with foil and bake 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake 10 minutes longer.
