Method

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. In a large bowl, mix cooked sausage, artichoke hearts, Italian seasoning, tomatoes, onion powder, onion flakes, boullion powder, and sugar. Mix well. Divide pizza dough into 4 pieces, and press out even rounds (about 1/4-1/2 thick) two at a time onto greased baking sheets. Divide the sausage mixture between the four pieces of dough, spreading toppping on only half of each circle to within 3/4 inch of the edge. Divide the cheeses evenly among each calzone. Fold the uncovered portion of dough over the filling; then roll & crimp with your fingers to seal. Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. If desired, serve each calzone with 1/4 cup of warmed spaghetti sauce.

Notes: I created this recipe as an easy dinner version of my favorite soup. This terrific calzone goes over well with both kids and adults.
